Thai man complains to Police regarding an SMS Scam promising a cash reward of 100,000 Baht.

On Thursday Night a 29 year old Thai Man made his way to Pattaya Police Station to make a complaint of an SMS scam which he had become the victim of. The scam had also left his bank balance 14,852 Baht lighter. Police were shown an SMS message from 085 676 2620. The message in Thai language stated that the owner of the phone had been randomly chosen by the THA Company to receive the sum of 100,000 Baht to celebrate their 13th Anniversary. The recipient must contact a Bangkok telephone number 02 951 666.
The man decided to call the number where he spoke with a man who stated that before the money could be transferred to him, he must pay over an amount of 14,852 Baht to the THA Company to cover the tax.
