The robber sped off on his motorbike, trying to escape pursuing police, but fell off his bike and was arrested. On 19 July, at 6.30 p.m. a police patrol led by Pol.Capt. Prasert Cherdchu, of Pattaya Police, being notified of a robbery at Dolphin Roundabout, Pattaya 2nd Road, arrived at the scene to find a distressed Mr. Somphong Chaijaruen, a 58 year-old Katuey from Naklua, who works as a cook at Town in Town Hotel. He informed the police that he had been on his friend’s motorbike on the way to work after watching a football match at Phothi-Samphan School. Suddenly, a guy on a black Honda Wave S 125, with no license plate, zoomed up to him and snatched his 75 gram gold necklace that he uses to hang his three Buddha images in a gold frame.
